Founded in 2015 by Ian Baker, Abney & Baker was built after Ian experienced the world of home care both as a family member searching for support and later as a director of a large national care chain. He saw the same pattern everywhere: almost all care companies offer task-led, reactive services that increase dependency rather than reducing it. Abney & Baker was designed to be the Preventative Care Company — helping people live well, avoid problems before they escalate, and maintain independence.

Core home care and support for staying well and confident at home. All delivered with a preventative focus to help clients stay independent for as long as possible. Includes personal care, meal preparation, medication support, companionship, household assistance, and home support tasks.
### Prevent
A proactive support service designed to help clients stay well, avoid setbacks, and maintain independence. Focuses on early intervention before problems escalate, with wellbeing check-ins and light physical activity.
### Prevent+
A specialist physical health programme powered by EVERFIT to improve balance, strength, and flexibility. Can be taken alongside Flexicare or Prevent, or as a standalone service. Targets fall prevention and long-term mobility.
